Gallon size is the size of the container the plant is currently growing in. When you see 1, 3, or 7 gallon plants, that refers to how many gallons that container can hold. This is an common practice by wholesale nurseries and please be aware that it isn’t exact. A 7 gallon container actually holds 5. 78 gallons of plant root and soil, 3 gallons is less than 2 literal gallons. Note that the larger the gallon size, the larger the rootball and the larger the plant. Actual plant size varies and cannot be consistently updated because plants are pruned and grow constantly.
Bags and B&B (Balled and Burlapped) trees are high caliper (larger) trees. Pease be aware that these trees may need multiple people/special equipment to be moved and planted. They are a great choice if you want instant height and or/screening.
